I'm 25 years old and I still don't know what I want to do with my life. I went to college, and got a general studies Assoc degree. I have a really good desk job now, that pays pretty well, but I don't know if this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I like helping people, but I don't like calling or really talking on the phone. I like working outside, in nice weather. I love to exercise, but I'm not in the greatest shape. I absolutley hate sales and telemarketing. I learn extremely fast, and have a really good memory and love to read. I'm sorta a loner, but wouldn't want to be alone all day. I type well, but would never want a receptionist type job (remember, I hate phones). I'm horrible with driving directions, and just hate driving in general. I'm a great leader. I'm good with computers, but not enough to repair or program. I'm not afraid of hard work, as I have worked in several labor intensive jobs as well. I am a girlly girl. and i don't like to touch people.

Do you hate driving or traffic? I used to think I hated to drive, because I live in Los Angeles, where it's a nightmare. Then I drove 70 miles in North Dakota and it was a life changing experience.

The reason I ask is because a lot of what you describe says National Park ranger to me. Being outdoors. Being alone in the woods sometimes but leading tours other times. Working with animals. Helping people in the park. Or maybe some other type of tour guide at a historical site.

Less outside but more with reading, what about being a library clerk for a while and seeing if maybe you want to be a librarian.

There are two things to consider. One is to go back to the community college and ask to speak to a guidance counselor. Ask him or her for help. That's their job: helping people find their direction in life.

Another thing to do is take a Myers-Briggs test, which types your personality in four dimensions. That information can help you find out what sort of work you might like.

You might want to look into dental hygiegiene. It doesn't take that long to get certified. You won't be looking at a computer all day plus it's a "hands on" job.

If you don't even know what you want, then the best career is to be a dreamer.
