There has been a lot of unnecessary fuss regarding the moon landings. Not that NASA has anything to prove (and they shouldn't), but, why doesn't some independent source either send up a rover to the moon to gather pictures of the things left behind from those missions, or, equip one of the shuttles, maybe even the space station, with a telescope to zoom in on the locations of these previous moon landings?
I'm just eager to see all of this non-sense about the moon landings being fake put to a halt, once and for all. I'm sure MOST of you would agree with me. :)

Because the conspiracy loonies would believe that the "independent source" was just another part of the conspiracy.
The only solution would be to collect all of the conspiracy nuts and plop them on the Moon for a look-see.

There are several reasons why none of this has been done. To see the stuff on the Moon from Earth orbit would take an impossibly big telescope. Many times bigger than Hubble and too big to fit in the Shuttle.
Some private groups have considered sending a "cheap" space craft to land near an Apollo site and take pictures, but the cost was just too high and the movie rights were just not enough to pay for it.
Anyway, those who insist it is all fake would not believe any of the pictures anyway. They would just claim the people who took them are in on the cover up and all the new evidence is fake too.

Well, unfortunately, the real answer is simply education.
Most of the people that don't understand much are the most gullible to believe someone who appears to be smarter, pointing out something obvious...like a lack of stars in the background of a moon photo. Unfortunately, those people don't know anything about contrast. So the only way to influence them is to teach them or provide an equally accessible "test" to prove why you wouldn't be able to see stars in the background. Having them look up at a street light at night and try to count the stars is one such simple test they can try.
The benefit of converting Nay-Sayers is they will hopefully then not impede the space program. But until they are educated enough to understand the benefits of pure-science (science for the pursuit of knowledge, not for return on investment) then it will always be a struggle.
The best solution is to teach our children at an early age about how things like "contrast" effects cameras and eyes, so they can easily stomp on the tin-foil skeptics.

All these conspiracy theory nuts just need to sit down and think for a few minutes....
The number of people involved in the moon landings number in the tens of thousands, from the astronauts themselves to guys around the world operating radio telescopes (as transceivers) and the mathematicians and physicists who calculated the flight trajectories and burn times, guys who designed and built the rockets and modules, etc etc. If the moon landings were a genuine conspiracy every one of those people would either have to be a part of the conspiracy or fooled by it. And that is simply impossible to carry off!

There's no reason to bother trying to verify the manned lunar landings. Those people who insist that all six were hoaxes are either too lazy to research the question themselves, or simply don't have the knowledge to understand the facts in the first place. It's said that ignorance is bliss which means those airheads must be very happy all the time.
