The topic I am considering is Animals that attack Humans. Does this sounds like a good topic? The paper needs to be 2000 words. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

Just for RobertM's information, since this is an informal forum I chose not to use my best grammar here. I have to do it enough in school. The question mark is automatically inserted by yahoo and there is nothing I can go about it. Your response was extremely unhelpful. Next time you decide to answer someone else's question, try to at least give your opinion on the subject at hand. Had I asked for ideas for topics on my research paper then maybe your answer would be helpful.

Well, if you are using 12-pt Times New Roman font, then one page is about 250 words ... so 2000 words is around 8 pages, right? I think you could afford to be a little broad. Perhaps you could focus on land animals, water animals, or pets. There are several animals people tend to keep as pets that are prone to attacking. I wouldn't try to stick with just one animal for 2000 words, though.

It sounds like a reasonable topic although it may have a lot of ancedotes in the paper. The ancedotes would be alright if you have information to support it. If you discuss several different animals then the ancedotes would be ok. You could break the paper down into several segments. For example, you could have a section on the hypotheses of why animals attack humans, what causes them to attack (humans being the problem or something wrong with the animal physiologically), and then incorporate the different types of animals that attack humans (pets, terrestrial wildlife, aquatic/marine wildlife, zoo animals, animals in sanctuaries and in biomedical research).

I hope this helps.

That sounds like a good topic. Date Line just did a show on this a couple of days ago. It was about people who lived among their pets (bears, monkey, etc) and were attacked all of the sudden. Then you could discuss statistics of attacks such as dogs, cats, etc. Then possibly talk to you local animal shelter (they ususally have a website) and they could give you information such as the statistics, procedures after the attack, etc.

Hope that helps

NO!! How about a paper on 'Humans that attack grammar"

I suggest you research English grammar and writing skills. It would be of a much greater benefit to you.

"I have to write a research paper for my english class in school. I need some input back on my topic.?"
or
I have to write a research paper for my English class. I would appreciate some input. Please help!

The "E" in English is always capitalized.

"Class", in this usage, refers to an environment for learning as does school. Using both together is (in my humble opnion)
unnecessarily redundant.

Please accept my remarks simply as opinionated input. Good luck with which ever subject you choose.

It sounds okay, but still really broad for a 2000 word essay. Maybe you should narrow it down to something like "Shark Attacks" or "Bear Attacks" and then talk about why that animal attacks.

Get to a good video store and rent "Grizzly Man" it has lots of information and varying ideas on wildlife and living/dying with them. It will give you a bit to think about and more than a couple of starting places to start from. The movie won a Cann a couple of years ago so it is not your basic "When Animals Attack" schlock piece.

What does that topic have to do with English? It also seems rather violent and not likely to lead to a good grade. Suck up to the teacher. Try a topic like The Great American Writers.

where I live, there has been extensive coverage about the incidents of dog attacks recently. Maybe you could narrow your topic to something more specific and timely. I think it's a great topic.

You need to be specific about your thesis statement, such as "Pitbulls: aggressive or family pets", " Sharks attack because humans are swimming in their territory", etc... You need to narrow down your reseach, or it will be much longer than 2000 words. Good luck.

I totally agree with what Sam said...a little more specific would help you with research and the actual writing...
