You have to give 30 days notice. So if you told them today, they should cancel the contract 30 days from today. On your final bill, if you get charged a full months line rental even though your phone is disconnected part way through that month, they will usually refund you for the period of time that the phone was disconnected.

The 14 days cooling off period only applies when you initially take out the contract. You should be able to give 30 days notice though so you're not tied into another year!

Unfortunately all networks contracts state you have to give 30 days notice-best thing to do is lower your tariff to the cheapest one then change it over to whatever you want.

By the way even if you took your number elsewhere they will still charge 30 days line rental.

You can do it faster if you don't mind changing your number by asking them to change the Sim card to pay as you go, you usually get a new Sim in a few days and then you can go find your self a great new deal.
