I really like Keane, and have downloaded a few of their live performances, but it seems they sound more bland live than in the studio... They're coming to my area soon, but I'm not sure if I want to spend the money and be disappointed.

No, his voice is very bland and you can tell that he has "help" in the studio achieving the sound you hear on the albums.

The music is good but they are bland performers. I wouldn't waste my money and I like them!
