Hello Trini,
It is getting monotonous and tedious all this trashing and insulting of each other. I think it's not exclusive to one person or nation right now. It's everyone running rampant with disrespect for each other. I don't know why we simply cannot celebrate or grieve our wins and losses, our hero's and idols without all this nastiness. Personally I believe everyone did the best they could at the time, so why poke fun at each others efforts. Sure there are things I strongly agree with that have been said and things I don't, that's fine it's my opinion but I am not going to insult someone because their opinion differs to mine. Erri has made some very good points in his reply to your question. Irrespective of who played in the Final and who won or lost, you will find disappointment and sadness, even perhaps a sense of bitterness. No country is void of supporters who have the propensity to show bad sportsmanship, but they do also have supporters who show extremely fine sportsmanship. Generalising is not a good way to judge a nation or it's people and that seems to be what is happening here now. It's quite often not someones feelings or answers, points of view etc that are hurtful or insulting, it's the way one chooses to word them. I just hope it stops soon, because right now this category is a sad and sorry place to visit.

It's such an ancient attitude, called 'one-mind supporting' (i.e. someone here is talking about 'play fair with dignity and honour' - I can't figure it out how head-butting someone else could be involved in fair-play) flavored with 2 picks of childish behavior (Touzours rules as everyone knows) who helps to going over the line of correctness.
Now, I feel oddily in defending those French sore losers side, but I feel it's my task.
1. This section is definitively old. 06 Sept France and Italy will play in Paris in EC preliminaries.
(We) Italians celebrate WC win yet. Other countries supporters have reached their conclusion. During the whole WC were was a 'post-fighting' between opponents, but now only a bunch of French sore losers is heavily posting here and they're highlighted.
2. This 'one-mind supporting' is an issue shared all over the world. In 2002 WC Italy was pulled out in South Korea match from oddily acting referee Byron Moreno (EVERYONE in Italy knows him). Crowd and media were enraged, forgetting how Italy played only average, if not poor. Spanish press says 'Italian sore losers are blaming referee'. Next match Spain was pulled out against South Korea from oddily acting Egyptian referee. Forgetting how their match wasn't a top level performance, press says 'Italians were right - referee scandal in WC'.
3. Of course, a lost match is bitter in final than before. French are even more disappointed to lose at p.k. (they forgot they won Italy on penalties in '98 and next had great luck in UEFA championship 2000, draw 1-1 at 90' and golden goal at 103').
'Z-dumb vs. Cheaterazzi' is the only thing they well remember in 2006 WC final. They go for sure having ZZ they would win penalties. No one of them has MEASURED how many centimeters are between ZZ penalty (crossbar-goal) and Trezeguet one (crossbar-out). Both of team fear Buffon and they try a shoot to avoid any saving opportunity. But do you can explain this at a 'one-minded supporter'? Of course not.

Finally - I agree - it's time to leave
trash talking
sore losers
this section
THE QUESTION 'WHAT DID HE SAY...'
STOP PLEEEEAAASE I HATE IT - IT'S IMMORTAL
bashing
insulting (oddily enough the worst insulting ones are who say 'Materazzi deserve banning by insulting behavior', make no sense at all) players, Italians...
answering insulting the other ...
... and so on ...

BUT
I can't HATE French (I mean their sore losers bunch)
nor 'one-minded supporters', because it's in the game and I like the game, with its own better side (friendship, sportsmanship, fair talking) and its worst side who is annoying but helps to appreciate the better one too. And I'm sure EVERY supporter has a bit of 'one-mind' attitude!!!
Believe me, if (we) Italians had lost WC at penalties now we would have LOTS of Italians sore losers.
LOL --- NOW IT'S FRENCH TIME --- LOL
And it's time to close the section.
Why don't open 'EURO 2008'? Too early?

Coz as human beings we hav got the right to criticize the cheats and we cant let injustice reign over justice. So we support Les Bleus coz they play fair with dignity and honour.

MAYBE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN HOW MANY MORONS ARE TRASH TALKING THE FRENCH AND GERMAN TEAMS?! BECAUSE THERE ARE PLENTY OF ITALY FANS DOING JUST THAT, NOT TO MENTION GLOATING ABOUT THEIR "WIN" CONSTANTLY.

IT'S NOT BEING SORE LOSERS THAT WE SAY ITALY CHEATED, IT IS RECOGNIZING INJUSTICE!!! HOW MANY PEOPLE SAID THINGS AGAINST BRAZIL IN 2002?! EXACTLY, NOT MANY, BECAUSE BRAZIL PLAYED FAIR AND DESERVED TO WIN, LOTS OF PEOPLE DIDN'T WANT THEM TO WIN BECAUSE THEY ARE FANS OF OTHER TEAMS, BUT WE ALL ACCEPTED IT BECAUSE BRAZIL DESERVED THEIR VICTORY.

THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT, THE REASON MANY PEOPLE WON'T ACCEPT ITALY'S "VICTORY" IS BECAUSE THEY REALIZE IT JUST WASN'T FAIR, AND OTHER TEAMS DESERVED TO WIN MORE THAN ITALY. WE ARE JUST SAYING THE TRUTH. NOT TRASH-TALKING, NOT BEING SORE LOSERS, JUST TELLING THE TRUTH!!!!!
