What's your idea on it? Is he a team player or a ball hogger?

If people aren't impressed because it's the NBA then how come more people can not rack up those kind of points. When someone is in a zone like that, teammates know it and give the ball up to see that special situation happen. Only reason Kobe is criticized is because of his past. Jordan never was questioned when he took 35 - 40 shots a game and look at the talent he had on his team.

If i remember correctly, the game he scored 81 points, the Lakers were losing that game pretty big until the 3rd quarter when Kobe took completely over. So how can you say he is not a team player when his team play got them down by alot.

Kobe will never win in public opinion. If he shoots alot he is a ball hog, if he doesn't shoot alot he is called out for sabotaging the game.

Respect his talent and respect that he is no Jordan. Though i do recall Jordan having problems but was never crucified like Kobe. I guess there are enough Shaq fans who still think the problem was Kobe when they were together when it was really both their faults. But I guess only people with blinders can see that.

In a way because it's 81 points but no 1) it's NBA, not a lot of defense 2) Kobe Bryant is practically the Lakers offense so he has to score 3) Wilt Camberlin still has that 100 point game...in a time with no 3 point shots

Yes I was very impressed... and if you look at the stats of the game... he wasnt really ball hogging... sure he shot alot of shots but he mad 7 of 13 3's ( 21 pts. ) about 22 free throws ( that adds up to be about 43 pts. ) and he had about 10 lay ups and dunks ( thats close to 60 something pts ) so , he didnt really shoot that many other shots If you really know basketball then you would know that he's not a ball hog.. he does what he has to do for his team to win.! he's the best player in the N.B.A and everyone knows that even his team mates... they know he's gonna get 30 points a game so they have to do they best to help out either by rebounds or assist ect. ect...... He's coached by phil jackson ( arguably the best coach of our time ) he's the one telling kobe to take over the game cause he has the ability to do so... and you cant forget the fact that they MADE the play offs ( unlike alot of teams ) and held a 3-1 lead of the Phoenix suns

I am quite impressed by the 81 points by Kobe. I think, he wont ever repeat that mark though. Lebron James is the best player now.

despite the controversy of being called a ball hogger - scoring 81 pts in a game is a tremendous feat. scoring pts should never come at the sacrifice of winning the game. we watch sports to see althletes do great things - push the limits.

i say kobe scoring 81pts was pretty cool.

Scoring 81 in the modern game is some feat.
But its a shame for a player who will never win another championship ring again.

I'm not impressed by anything in basketball. Who cares. Just a bunch a tall guys running back and forth, shooting the b-ball. I don't find it exciting. Sure, it requires a lot of skill and talent, but 81 points or 200 points, I really don't care.

Its very impressive! It probably was the team's plan to let Kobe go for the record! Where was the defense?
