The top earner is most likely the plastic surgeon.

With the realtor or the lawyer it depends.

A realtor that can sell a lot will make more than an average lawyer. But this realtor will have to be pretty exceptional. You don't get a base salary as a realtor. Many people do real estate part time. The commissions are big, so they can live off of just a few sales a year. A lawyer has to be a good lawyer to get a good job. A lot of people get law degrees and don't necessarily go into law. A lawyer in good firm makes more money than an average realtor by far.

Over all, lawyers make more than realtors.

In the long run, Lawyers do make more than Realtors, in most cases. A "few" Realtors do as well.

However, since they work by the hour, a lawyer's fees in assisting with real estate purchases, will be far less than a Realtor.

In selling a business and real estate I have paid about $2,000.00 to a lawyer, where a Realtor would have charged $15,000.00

Plastic surgeons I am sure make the most.

The nation wide average Realtor only makes 30k-40k and most do it part time, it is not uncommon for sucessfull agents to make 250k and above - but I would venture to guess only 10% of the Realotrs make that.

The Realtors I know, make more than most of the attorneys I know and only had to go to school for 1 month (sure beats 4+ years of college).

There are exceptions to every rule, but for the amount of schooling verses pay I am glad I choose real estate.

Most realtors do not make a ton of money. Some do well using their knowlege of real estate to invest or develop property.

Lawyers & doctors generally make six figure incomes, sometimes several hundred thousand and up! Keep in mind you need extra college to become a lawyer and for doctor you need pre-med college + med school + internship.
