Suggestions for a good web cam and software?

I live in Texas and I have a good friend in Germany and we want to get web cams and talk over the internet. I am looking for recommendations for a cam, software and internet server.

I recommend the Logitech Pro series.... they have some neat extras. You can download software from logitech's website to greatly enhance your webcam experience.
