Hmmm good question, I don't have a set routine on this because it doesn't happen to me often. I have found a good short trip away from things can help, I've also had success just staying around home and immersing myself in taking care of neglected chores and such. I'm betting that your trip will at least let you have enough distance to put everything in a different perspective.

Here what I usually do:
1) Lock myself in my room.
2) Open up my iTunes.
3) Play those heavy metal songs which have alot of solo play.
4) Then I imagine that I am the one who playing the solo with an imaginary guitar on my hand.
5) I will jump up and down, and imagine that I'm playing in a concert with a huge audience infront of me.
6) Usually after 10 mins, I will stop cause it will be damn tired and I do wonder how in the world those bands can play up to 2 hours.
Well above is my way to release some tension in life..hahaha

Get in the car, let all the windows down and crank up the loudest most obnoxious music I can find. I sing, I cry, I scream to the top of my lungs. Then I go home and sleep it off. It's very refreshing. Even better if there's someone in my bed that I can take it out on. That always helps too.

IF possible I drive down to the coast & take a little time to myself. If not, I'll go to Barnes & Nobles or somewhere quiet like that..curl up with a good book and get lost from the world.

I listen to my favorite artist, Prince.... he generally gets me pumped with the lyrics of a good love ballad or a show stopper fast tune. If I don't have my music, I play a video game to take my mind off of the real world for an hour or so. Sometimes, I even use yard work...it never talks back and it gives me sanctuary from my probs.....

I go for a walk along the beach or I go for a long bike ride.
Sometimes I take my grandchildren to a park. You can't feel down for long if you have 3 children under the age of 3 laughing and squealing.

Find a recipe I've never tried, go to the store to get any ingredients I may not have, then make it. Could be a casserole, a cake, a weird Chinese recipe, a new pizza crust recipe... just as long as I've never tried making it before. Takes my mind off of whatever got me down and gives me something to look forward to.

i like your concept of putting some upbeat music on, doing laundry, cleansing up and cooking a effective dinner. i think of that experience of achievement does make you experience solid. right this moment is one in each of those lazy days nonetheless, i be conscious of what you advise. i become speaking to 3 different people who suggested an identical element approximately right this moment, they're only sitting around relaxing, gazing television or video clips, and doing no longer something, that's additionally solid for the psyche each in specific circumstances. people continually think of they might desire to be busy to be satisfied, yet i do no longer think of it extremely is actual. Have a great day no rely what you do!

It depends on my resources at the time. If I have some money I try to go out of town for a few days or so. If not I write in my journal--that's always been therapeutic for me.
