Sol didn't want to sit on the bench for most of this season. In moving to Portsmouth he'll likely start provided he's healthy. I think he's gotten a bad rap the last two years due to injury, but I think he can contribute a lot in the next two years.
Man Utd signed Laurent Blanc a few years back and he contributed nothing and in comparision, Sol has more potential.
I'm suprised a Spanish or Italian club didn't pick him up. He could have fit in at Real Madrid, where they have all kinds of problems in the back as of late, or even Valencia.

Sol's probably one of the best defenders in the world, Arsenal's a quality team looking to repeat their champions league experience. Sol's been battling with injuries in recent years, so i think he loves the game and is willing to settle for a team with less European action to climax his career.
