i was once.
my boyfriend and i were taking a late night walk..about 11pm and we crossed an alley, about a block from my house, and there was a skunk up the alley. we spooked him and he sprayed us good!
oh, it was miserable!
my mom had to go to the store at 11pm to get us GALLONS of tomato juice.
by the way....tomato juice works, but you have to scrub....you can't just dip your arm in and the smell is gone. oh no, you have to scrub!

when i was 17 my cat and i were visiting my sister,her house was on top of this steep hill mine was at the bottom,as it was late and i only had a dim porch light to illuminate the way when i headed for home the cat and i ran down the hill,to get to my porch before the boogy man got us,but there was a surprise waiting instead of the boogy man,there was a skunk on my steps the hill was so steep and the momentum of my running caused us to,litterally run the skunk over and the three of us fell in one big heap together,and the skunk sprayed the both of us until we were soaked,the cat and i had to have many many baths with tomato juice,and the clothes i was wearing had to be burned..now just the faint smell of a skunk makes me sick to my stomach

Someone ran over a skunk on the road outside the house, I had never smelled one before but to me it smelt like the sulphur in the air after you strike a match.
Good to know the tomato juice actually works ...lol Ty

We had a German Shepard that got sprayed bad one time. My dad went looking for him, and he had his paws THROUGH his collar, trying to wipe his eyes. My dad had no sense of smell at the time, so he went to pet him, and found an oily substance on his fur. He brought the dog into the house to wipe it off with a paper towel. Of course, we smelled it the instant he brought the dog in. When we got upstairs, Dad held the paper towel up, straight in Mom's face, and said "Herbie, do you know what this is?" That house smelled like skunk as long as we lived there.

yes my dog has been sprayed by a skunk and
I was recently sprayed by a skunk at a wildlife clinic where i volunteer. Stench is unbearable....I used skunk off bought from my local vet!

I never have, I heard it's quite unpleasant though. I've never heard of it happening to a person, usually it happens to an animal like a dog or something. Sorry you had to go through that!

No....never, but smelled plenty of them when I used to live in the Colo. Mtns! peeeee ewwwwwwww!!
