Yes someone I know still uses a Windows 95 but anyway a blue screen pops up (not the blue screen of death) and it says at the top CMOS setup utility and then it has a bunch of stuff. Why does this popup for no reason at the start of the computer? Is there a way to fix it?

Your delete key might be stuck...try plugging in a new keyboard and see if it does it.

CMOS setup utility wont just pop up and it have nothing to do with windows ( in the beginning computer won't use windows which is on hard disk but rather CMOS(ROM) data) the CMOS setup utility pops up using a key which varies from one motherboard to the other. (mostly the key is Del but my own PC uses Tab) so the key that bring CMOS setup utility up is probably damaged.

re: previous answers

CMOS is in fact in no way related to what operating system is in use.

CMOS setup screen will not pop up 'for no reason' somewhere on your screen is an explanation.

new data for you:

Some self test is failing (key is stuck or some such) or, it thinks something has changed since it last booted, time, memory size, type / size of hard drive. This is usually a symptom of a battery failure.

Usually you must hold a function key down during startup, could it be stuck?

It is highly recommended that you replace W95 with WXP.
