Why is it, that the last song?

you hear on the radio or whatever, stays in your head when you are trying to get to sleep?

It's not just before you go to sleep! I go through the whole day sometimes with 'hurrah for Noddy' or 'Fifi and the flowertots' songs running through my head, thanks to my two kids breakfast tv viewing. Drives me mad!!

That's not too bad cause you get to choose which radio station you listen to. I go to a construction site now and again for work, and I get the random tunes that builders whistle while the work stuck in my head.

Last song syndrome (LSS). That's what you're experiencing... and so are everybody. The last song that you hear stucks in your head, as if it's playing all over again... well we sometimes hate it because we can't sleep coz of that "song"... but heck, I find it pretty nice... :)

All down to the subconscious babe. Great if you're trying to kick a habit like smoking, or trying to improve self-confidence, learn a foreign language etc. Just stick the relevant tape in your deck, close your eyes, and all your problems will be solved. :-)

u think thats bad, i work in an amusement arcade and have yucky tunes such as 'barney' & 'who let the dogs out' playing from some machines - thats ok u say but not when im pegging out my washing and that is all i hear - help!!!

i think it depends on the song and wether u like it or not and if its a catchy tune u know easy to remember
