Now this question has probably been asked plenty of times and judging by the answers of most people more than half of these people are basing their answers off of what they've seen from the movies and have never picked up a comic book in their life. Personally, I'm putting my money on Batman. Sure Spider-Man's a cool character, probably one of my favorites, but Batman is the only character in the DCU that could take down any member of the JLA (That's Justice League for you non-comic readers, just think of the cartoon!) if they ever got out of line. Including Superman! He would study Spider-Man as they fought and learn what he can about his powers and learn how to counter them. So if someone actually took the time to read this, I'd like to hear your answers. Who'd win a fight if Batman and Spider-Man ever fought?

Batman wins without a doubt.

Batman has honed his body to phsical and mental perfection, has an array of limitless resources capable of battling foes of supernatural proportions, and has the brain and the ultimate wit that will Spider-Man would not be able to escape. Spider-Man is a great hero, I'm a huge fan, but there's no denying that Batman has the upper hand.

Spider-man indeed has an array of superpowers at his helm, such as web blast, superior strength, speed, agility and his keen Spider-sense, but that doesn't mean BATMAN isn't fast and effective just because he's human, he would use his wit and effectively scope for a weakness before blindly rushing in against a superhuman.

Think Daredevil, another superpowered Hero with extraordinary speed, agility and senses similar to Spider-Man. Batman exploited his blindness through examining his posture, movement and deduced with accurate results that his other senses had been heightened as a result. He used this too his advantage, overpowered Daredevil's senses by unleashing a barrage of flash grenades and smoke bombs that confused his senses, and breaching his defense with unrelenting force.

A character like Batman wouldn't hesistate to play dirty when it comes to victory. Batman would use his environment and every weapon at his disposal, similar to what happened to DAREDEVIL, mix that with his physical feats and dominating martial arts ability and Spider-Man would ultimately fall.

Batman is supposed to represent the peak of human perfection - he is tough, fast, strong, smart and incredibly well trained. However, I don't think he could take down every DC Character without being prepared for them - Bane broke his back and he has been defeated many times.

Spiderman is faster, stronger, has superior sense with his spider-sense and has an advantage with his webbing. Spidey defeated the Hulk once!

I think Spiderman wins most of the time, unless Batman was able to set up the environment beforehand, then its even money.

Strength: Spider-Man can lift 12 tons. Batman is peak human, about 1000 lbs. Advantage Spider-Man.
Speed: Spider-Man can tag Quicksilver and dodge multiple bullets in midair. Batman is peak human. Advantage Spider-Man.
Durability: Batman has bullet proof armor, but Spider-Man has taken building destroying explosions and gotten up. Advantage Spider-Man.
Intelligence: This one is closer than everyone seems to think. Batman is definitely a genius, one of the top guys in DC. But Spider-Man is also a genius, just below Reed Richards and Tony Stark (both of which surpass Batman). Very slight advantage Batman.
Technology: Spider-Man has his web shooters (and several types of web too), spider tracers, a flashlight and I think a gas mask too, but Batman has a LOT of stuff. Advantage Batman.
Skill: Batman knows over a hundred marital arts, but tell me; how many can he use at once? Only one. Spider-Man was trained by Shang Chi, one of the top fighters in Marvel. Tie.
+Spider sense. Spidey stomps

In my opinion? SpiderMan would win. Not simply because I prefer Spidey but because Batman is just one man with high skills, abilities. Spidey has extra power, speedness, can foresee dangers.... Spidey 1 - Batman 0

Batman - handsdown. He is the only one that has no superpowers. So he evolves. He is a billionaire and has the means for research.
