S H I R A Z, what terrorists? 8 days on. No charges. If they had a viable plot going and I understand the British Judicial system, they would have been arraigned by now. Get your head out of the sand please. It's sunny out here.

NO john h, It is done electronically. As someone in the IT industry I know that they have to listen to all our calls, Investigation is triggered by key words, to designated countries, and regularity of calls. That means me calling my sister in the UK, saying that I disagree with ISRAEL, every WEEKEND would trigger a snoop. Well I value my FREEDOM and don't trust BUSH. simple.

The reason the "Patriot Act" was named was that if anyone dissented then you would, of course, be viewed as "Un-Patriotic".
Nevertheless, The 4th amendment is thrown out the window due to this most unconstitutional act. The most despicable quote I have ever heard was from Tom Ridge after he was sworn in as the head of homeland security..."Civil liberties is one of the greatest gifts we give Americans" Give? Civil Liberties is our right...you don't give it to us! Conservative Willam Saffire once said about bush when it came to the patriot act and its unconstitutionality......"On what legal meat does this our Caesar feed?" I thank the judge and the decision that values the ideals set out by our founding fathers. BRAVO

Okay simple fact for the next two years everyone is going to live with this administration. Get over it. And could someone tell me what the so called honest and trust worthy democrats would do that would be better? At least this administration is trying to do something about the bad guys that are out there. All it is sounds like right now is that the liberals want everyone to like them, please please we need the terrorist to like us, let's be nice and sing songs to them. Jeshh go hug a tree.

If we give up one freedom, one right or change our lives in any way the terrorist have one as that is their objective. Bush being the dimwit he is does not understand this. All they have to do is get a court order and show just cause and they circumvent the law and refuse to do this. This could be the downfall of the Bush administration, resulting in criminal charges and he has gone on record as authorizing it.

In brief, we have found that there is substantial evidence the President, the Vice-President and other high ranking members of the Bush Administration misled Congress and the American people regarding the decision to go to war in Iraq; misstated and manipulated intelligence information regarding the justification for such war; countenanced torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in Iraq; permitted inappropriate retaliation against critics of their Administration; and approved domestic surveillance that is both illegal and unconstitutional. Bush writes his own laws as he goes and needs!

Bush felt since he is president he is above the law I can do what ever I want. Sorry Bush look at history Nixon claimed he was above the law during Watergate. The use of wiretaps is illegal just another attempt to throw fear to American public to support your failed policies..

I agree with the decision and this is just the beginning over who is really a Patriot in this Country and what are motives, and malice from the Patriot Act. The Republicans are criminals on all counts in this one.

how many overseas calls are made every day? DO YOU REALLY THINK THERE IS A CRACK TEAM OF INVESTIGATORS LISTENING TO EVERY ONE? get real. it is impossible. even if every call was recorded, and cataloged, and crossed referenced electronically with know terrorist numbers, or flagged electronically for the context containing "buzz" words, the chances of your call actually being heard by a real live person is almost ZERO. unless you are calling uncle Kim Jong-il , or your best friend Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
THANK YOU for cheering that we are less safe. Hope I did not hurt your liberal feelings...

A ruling from a Carter-Appointed and Clinton-Promoted Judge does not make it unconstitutional. Let's see what the Appeals and Supreme Courts have to say first.

So, to properly protect the American citizens, it is best not to know what the terrorists may be doing in America? They were listening in only to those calls from overseas, and going to overseas.....Obviously you must have a problem with that..... due to those taps....there were over 7 plots thwarted.....and numerous more under investigation....they are not there.....we may have been attacked by now again...and surely in the near future.......and then you would be griping how this admin wasn't protecting......so, which do you want? DO you have something to hide when calling someone? How often to you call overseas?

Agreed on wiretaps! More and more of our rights are always under fire. Thank heavens the judges have more sense.
Best thing is to NOT rely on ANY administration to protect us.
Vote LIBERTARIAN! Less Government is best!
