If you prefer not to use a harsh chemical like bleach or ammonia and would prefer a more natural solution here are two alternatives:

Tea Tree Treasure
Nothing natural works for mold and mildew as well as this spray. I’ve used it successfully on a moldy ceiling from a leaking roof, on a musty bureau, a musty rug, and a moldy shower curtain. Tea tree oil is expensive, but a little goes a very long way.
2 teaspoons tea tree oil
2 cups water
Combine in a spray bottle, shake to blend, and spray on problem areas. Do not rinse.
Makes 2 cups
Preparation Time: Under a minute
Shelf Life: Indefinite
Storage: Leave in the spray bottle

Citrus Seed Extract
The advantage of using citrus seed extract instead of tea tree for killing mold is that it is odorless.
20 drops citrus seed extract
2 cups water
Combine in a spray bottle, shake to blend, and spray on problem areas. Do not rinse.
Makes 2 cups
Preparation Time: A minute or so
Shelf Life: Indefinite
Storage: Leave in the spray bottle

Tea tree oil and grapefruit seed extract are available in health food stores.

solve the problem. when done showering squeege the water off the walls and let the vent fan run even after you left the room. if no vent, then keep an old towel handy and wipe down the walls. the moisture is the problem. a mixture of bleach and water will help. keep the door open to vent.

If you can stand the odor, spray on clorox. There are other products on the market that claim to do the job and some of them will, but clorox, (undiluted) will do it quicker and better. There is actually a product on the market which runs about $16.00 a pint and is mostly clorox with a bit of water. So even they know clorox works best.

clean really well and use another shower for a couple of days.

mold feeds on moisture. so if you let things dry out then the mold should die.
