It is never too late to study. For financial aid, talk to the advisers at the school of your choice. They have a number of possibilities. There are specific scholarships/aids to married people also. They should know about it.

Late? It's never too late to get a higher education. You and I are still considered "spring chickens" amongst the ranks.
I myself am 33 and I start my first day of college (majoring in Mathematics of all things) this coming Monday!
I'm a single mum with 2 kids (3 & 11) and don't work, so I was able to qualify for a full Pell Grant and an SEOG Grant (both do not have to be repaid). I will be partaking in work study as well.
But don't get discouraged if you don't fully qualify for a grant, take advantage of the loans they offer (they don't have to be paid until you are finished with school).
Besides, the whole purpose to go to college is to get a degree to get a higher paying job than what you would have without a degree.
I am so stoked about starting (and finishing) college. It's gonna be quite an experience.
Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov for more info about Pell Grants for the Spring 07' !
DO EVERYTHING EARLY!!

NO! I'm 35 and going back to school for the exact same thing! I have 2 children at home and I am also married, my DH is currently serving in Iraq.
You CAN get Financial aide even if you are married.
The best place to start is the college (I did my local community) and take a placement test. If you are like me and haven't been in college in a few years this is the best place to start. It will tell you what general education classes you need to brush up on (such as math, english, etc). Then meet with an Academic Advisor who can set you up with the classes you'll need to take.
I got my financial aid ($2,025.00 worth) through FASA. Click on the link below for their website.
Good Luck and if I can do it with 2 small children (one of whom has Down Syndrome) and an DH in Iraq, I know you can!

Goodness no, it's not too late. Nursing is actually one of the careers that's the most accepting of older students, and of career changers. You'll be surprised at the number of people your age and older in school studying nursing.
First, identify a school nearby that offers nursing. Then call admissions, and possibily financial aid, to talk about your options. They are your best resource. There is aid available for you.

It's not too late for you to return to college and there are financial aid resources out there. Best thing for you to do is select your college and set up an appt with an adivsor and financial aid office. Jr colleges are a good option for flexible schedules and lower tuition and class size! GOOD LUCK! Happy Friday!

It is officially NOT too late. Unis welcome mature students these days. If you're from the UK, you should get financial help in the form of NHS Bursaries (check out the website - not sure what the address is sorry but type into Google!)
ALso, I don't think you have to pay tuition fees if you're training to join the NHS.
I'm hoping to train to be a doctor in my mid-thirties (can't do it now due to finance etc) but will do it one day!
PS and if you're married you actually get EXTRA financial help, so it's a good thing (unless you're partner is on big money, then you might get less) But you get help for having kids. Dependents Allowance it's called.
Go for it, u only get 1 life.
