I saw the movie last night at the 10 pm screening.
Over all, I would say that the movie was pretty mediocre. It was a mixture of a 70's disaster movie, a creepy horror movie and some kind of down in the 'hood movie. The supporting actors were excellent and there were a few good scenes mixed in with the predictable action format. The editing was really bad; It felt like two movies sewn together.
The snakes were mostly just CGI. I was expecting more comedy. It seemed as though the producers tried to make an adult movie out of a more childish, teenager trashy movie because all of the comedy consisted of CGI snakes biting people in places that you would really hate to be bitten. (by a snake anyway)

I have not seen it, but wanted to share a few things with you:
1) There was an article in the my local paper about the film this week, basically about the large number of people who feel as you that it's going to be so bad, it will be good.
2) Movies that are intentionally made to be bad often are bad enough to be poor, but not bad enough to attain cult status.
3) The studio actually considered some moves to make the movie more 'respectable' (had even changed title to Pacific Flight ### and had a PG-13 rating). The internet buzz, as well as Samuel L Jackson's threat to quite the picture lead to the current level of cheesiness associated with the film.
And....
4) PLOT POINTS!?!?!?!? What are you kidding me? There's a plane. There's lots of snakes on it. Samuel L Jackson fights these snakes as some sort of bada** cop or marshal or something. What plot are you expecting? I don't think there will be tearful reunion with his long lost mother portrayed by Oprah Winfrey in this movie!!!!!!

I havn't seen it yet. This is what I heard... first there is a plot. Sam L Jackson is an FBI agent assigned to take someone to a court to testify. The bad guys find out the plane they are on and release the snakes to stop the man from testifing.
second, the movie was supposed to be a family movie, but internet polls showed that views would rather hear Jackson swear, so they 'dirtied' up the movie to make it more adult.

it's ok
(fact: most venomous snake = pantaloonaconda (trouser snake) if venom is injected into a female human , a mysterious swelling of the tummy may occur- do not attempt to tackle the snake with bare hands, spraying it with cold water usually calms the excited serpent)

Actually, it doesn't make sense, if you understand snake behavior, but we are going for chills and thrills and Samuel L. Jackson in a cursefest!

Jackson survives at the end when the plane crashes and the last snake launches at him and he shoots its head off
