A-rod has more talent and the potential to be the greatest baseball player to have ever played. He just has to get everything put together and he will be alright. So far Jeter has the better career maybe not by stats but overall. Of course the better team leader is also Jeter. I don't know if the yankees have had a better one than him. From the clubhouse to the field he is the one they all follow. I believe this one is very close but I am going to give it to A-Rod. The reason being is how many people in there prime would give up there position and not once have you heard him say well if I was at my position I wouldn't be making all these errors. He knows and he will eventually fix his flaws and become Mr. yankee someday. At this point Jeter has won more games for them but once again it will be A-Rod sooner than later.

A-Rod is the better player. Team leadership is something meaningless invented by sportswriters so they'll have something to write about other than numbers. Jeter's team leadership can't help Damon or Cano when they're in the batter's box, can it? They're on their own.

Jeter is having one of the best seasons of his career, and A-Rod is having one of his worst, and still A-Rod's numbers are better than Jeter's. That says a lot. It also says a lot that Jeter stayed at shortstop when A-Rod is much better defensively there.

Jeter is the most overrated athlete of all time, and A-Rod might be the most underated. People don't understand how good he is.

They're both great. It's just that A-Rod is in a very big slump right now and every player goes through it!!! Just give him some time, he will get out of it eventually!! But, this is what I think:
More talent: Jeter
better career: both have good careers
team leader: both
sportsmanship:Jeter (he's the captain, it's his job!)
wins more games for the Yankees:Jeter

Jeter. He is a team player. He hustles and he has won more games for the Yankees then A-rod has. Alex has more talent, but he is too sensitive to criticism. A-rod is way overpaid and overrated.

The person I want at bat with the game on the line is Derek Jeter. The same way I wanted Don Mattingly in his prime.
