When she comes to our house she walks in with dirty feet and helps herself to our drinks in the cupboards, she smokes in our house even when I ask her not to, gets drunk and is generally an unpleasent person, she borrows money from my wife and doesn't repay it. She lives in a big beutiful house and goes abroard twice a year yet is always crying poverty so my wife buys her things.
When you go to her house you have to take your shoes off outside, she goes outside for a smoke, and hides the drinks.
There is no way she would lend you money or even do a favour for you.
But my wife thinks the sun shines out of her sisters backside, What can I do?

Tell her to take her shoes off even say hey ive to take mine off at yours or dont do it at her house and basically tell her hey u ignore me.
hide your drink and dont give her an ashtray.
better still take yourself out when she calls.
she sounds very ignorant and i understand why you wouldnt get on with her .
don't lend her your money let your wife lend her it and if she isn't getting it back she will have to say something.
I have probs with my sis in law different to yours she refuses to talk to me because i left her brother for a temp spell but he refuses to butt in so i can understand if your wife maybe does hear what you say but doesn't want to rock the boat maybe she is scared of her sister.
But you can do things yourself like eg if you do say take your shoes off keep at her until takes them off she should remove them next time .
(At her house take yours off with no asking at all ).
All that asking you do the first time will get her and ur wife moaning about you in the kitchen and later your wife might moan but hey she took her shoes off didn't she the moaning at you is forgotten next day ,then next time she calls tell her smoking is outside and make her smoke again you get some moans but now she is trained in smoking outside and taking shoes off.
Drinks is easy hide them and maybe leave the cheapest bottle of vile wine you can find she soon gets message ur drink is rotten and maybe she will start bringing her own.

If she doesnt comply to the wishes of the people who live in the house...she would NOT be welcomed into the house. If your wife has a problem with it tell her to go visit the sister but I wouldn't allow her in my damn house. Your wife needs to get a clue as well because her sister is taking her for a ride.

Just leave the house when she turns up and refuse to go to hers. Lock the drink away, and let your wife know that any gift your wife buys her is from her money and not yours. You can't stop your wife loving her sister, but you don't have to! Just don't let it cause problems between you and your wife.

She is treating you both with a total lack of respect. Tell her she is not welcome in your house until she learns to behave.
It will be difficult to start with but if she loves her sister (your wife) enough she will come around 7 start acting accordingly.

Sit your wife down and point all of these facts out to her.
She should realise, if not give her an ultimatum, as this sounds really unfair

I would put my foot down and totally ban her from my house. She sounds a right cow. If your wife wants to see her she can go to her house.

well tell her to take her shoes off loud and clear or hand her the mop to clean up after herself... if she argues say well we wouldn'd walk into your house with dirty shoes so please don't do it to us. tell your wife not to lend her money, tell her whats good for one is good for another.stand up for yourself that all you have to do, if it causes a stir so be it.

Just tell her to behave properly or else shut the door on her face when she visits you next time.
