It means that your Ipod is syncing automatically with your library and that you don't really need to modify. If you need to modify it yourself set it to manual sync http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ip_gettingstarted_t3.html

it means that u ipod is set to sync with another itunes... disable this in the itunes options....
