If he is still living there, they will ask for his income. Find a place you can go, like a less expensive apartment, and file that paperwork ASAP so he can start giving you child support. If you find you are in need, the United Way is very helpful. It's not a goverment agancy, so they may be able to help you before the government can. There are agencies like Crisis Ministry that help people in need by paying you gas and electirc bill and things like that and the United Way can connect you to them. Be strong and stay positive.

i have a friend who was in the same situation someone told her about a battered woman's shelter she had to stay there with her kids for one week after that they gave her an apt fully furnished with everything brand new and had to pay 300.00$ a month in miami the rent for those places normally cost 950.00$ call the national hot line or look in your local yellow pages.if your not working they can help you to apply for child support and they will not tell him where you live.good luck.the answer to this question is get to the shelter there is help but not as long as you put up with him i do wish you well good luck.

If you and/or the kids are getting beat on I would head for the shelter. You will get all your questions answered there. You say I have to leave so I take it that things are really bad. You can not sleep together by night and litigate by day, you need to call someone at the shelter and explain things to them. You are entitled to child support and a decent home for you children. The thing you have to remember is that you have to get out of there if things are bad for you, it is only going to get worse and either you or one of you kids could get seriously hurt. Good luck to you and call someone today.

Call your local government agency and see what they have to offer. And go from there. Good Luck.

call your local welfare department and ask them., or stay in the house and file for divorce and request alimony and child support. You may be able to keep the house and have him pay for it.
