What do banks charge to buy travlers checks and what is the charge when cashing them in?

yes, you should be able to do that. there is no charge to cash them, and if you belong to aaa, there is no cost to have them issued.

It depends on the cheque and the place. Many places don't cash them any more (except for banks) because of fraud. If you get American Express cheques those should be okay because they're the most widely accepted. Banks do charge fees for buying the cheques but not usually for cashing them. It's best to ask at your bank.

Yes.the bank you are buying from should tell you the banks in the country you are going to that are in partnership or agreement with them (the isuuing bank)on the buying and selling of travellers cheques.the bank should also tell you the rates involved.

of course... Traveler's checks are as good as cash. you can cash them anywhere.
