These are the very basic concepts of friction. I could explain it here but I suggest you refer to a book for conceptual clarity. Refer to 'Physics by Halliday & Resnick' if possible.

friction is the reactive force & it needs some action 2 exist.static friction is the friction between 2 surfaces in contact which are not moving wrt each other.Limiting value of the frictio is the max value of static friction. dy fri is the friction bet 2 surfaces in contact & moving wrt each other.
