I was curious as to the origans of the name 'bottom' used to describe that on which we sit. It appears to be plainly in the middle of our bodies (although often sags rairly low for some unfortunates). Should it not therefore be know as the 'middle' or even 'back bottom'?

It's the bottom portion of your torso.

My woman, an American to the final, tells me I relatively have a 'amazing butt..' yet whilst individuals are not being polite they are asserting 'assss.' as in dumb-asss..! I did word that American women folk have a undeniable preoccupational activity in that part of the male anatomy, for some weird and wonderful reason. they are constantly talking some male's 'amazing butt' and that's a term i've got not at all heard a English lady say in my existence. As an enthusiastic anthropology student, I surmised that it relatively is a throwback to the situations as quickly as we've been residing in caves and intercourse grow to be a greater public affair. So on a similar time as a pair grow to be - uh - nicely, coupling, something of the prolonged family contributors watched with various tiers of activity or boredom and the girls assessed the male performer on the inspiration of the gentleman's 'amazing butt.'

It's probably because the torso is considered the 'body' as you see people normally shoot bullets at the torso and not at the toes :P
Hence, the bottom is the bottom of the torso.
Of course unless people would love to be called assface =))
Coming to think of it... ever wondered where 'butthead' comes from?

They had to call it something, and the person was sitting down so HE, I know he was a man, looked at himself and said thats it I will call it a bottom. Dumb or what!!!!!!!!

It is of course the bottom of the alimentary canal. Whether that's where the name comes from or not is another question.
