I have travelled extensively world wide and places I have especially loved are New Mexico...(Santa Fe) Czech Republic (Prague) and China (Shanghai). I felt a connection with each of these quite diverse places.

Why don't you go to Vietnam - in South- East Asia?
Because:
1- It's such a strange name for you? So, you've got a chance to discover a new country, a new culture, an incredible city,...
2- Excellent places to go shopping -esp. with low prices and good quality...
3- Wonderful beaches and nice people...
Etc....

Outside of the one I was born in. Has to be South Korea I also was in Tokyo, Japan didn't get to see much but downtown and it was beautiful.
