On the main screen there is a little G in the top left hand corner of my screen thats bugging me, just above 'silent'. Anyone know what it is or how to get rid of it.
Thanks!

I think that means you are connected to GPRS for WAP browsing. I have a different Nokia but allows you to set the phone so that you are connected all the time or only when you want to be

Packet data (EGPRS)
Enhanced general packet radio service (EGPRS), packet data, is a network service
which allows mobile phones to send and receive data over an Internet protocol
(IP)-based network. It enables wireless access to data networks such as the Internet.
The applications that may use packet data are MMS, browsing sessions, e-mail,
remote SyncML, Java application downloading, and the PC dial-up.
To define how to use the service, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity >
Packet data > Packet data connection.
Select When needed to set the packet data connection to be established when an
application needs it. The connection will be closed when the application is terminated.
Select Always online to set the phone to automatically connect to an packet data
network when it is switched on.
indicates a packet data connection.

This is a link to download the 6101 6102 User Guide in PDF format. It's alot easier then using little paperback.

As Tim S said thats what it means, if you want to browse the internet that means you have a signal for it but on different networks there might be a cost to it.

it simply means your gprs is enabled and when you make acall there is a line through it because the gprs is interupted while you make the call just go into your internet settings and change your gprs setting from always online to when needed and you will then only see it when u go online linda

that G means your GPRS is active, just open the GPRS settings, and see options always enable, or enable when needed, just choose turn it off...

go into settings, then into gprs (this could also be called packet data) and then click "connet when needed " rather then "always online"... hope this helps :)

Yeah, you need to call your service provider as this happened to me once too. They will clear it for you.
