Ryan Reynolds would be my hands down choice to play the part...and thats cool because Writer/Director David Goyer who is working to bring it to the big screen wants Reynolds to play the part as well.

It's hard to call The Flash movie project a "remake," since the short-lived TV series wasn't exactly one that made an impact on pop culture. Like X-Men and other comic book movies, it's less of a "remake" of previous screen versions than it would be a new adaptation of the comic book itself.

Anyway, I agree with Queen of Cards' opinion above regarding The Flash's look--he shouldn't conform to the superhero stereotype of an overly-muscular, square-jawed guy of few words, like he was portrayed in the TV show; he shouldn't be built like a linebacker; he should be wiry, quick and cocky--speed and wits, not brawn. I've heard Ryan Reynolds' name being bandied about, and he'd be a fine choice, but my choice would be Michael Rosenbaum, best known as Lex Luthor from "Smallville." Fans of the Justice League/JLU Animated Series will understand why he's perfect for the role--he *was* Wally West in the show, and physically looks the part (well, once he lets some hair grow in).

I would love to see "Supernatural"'s JENSEN ACKELS play the flash. His handsome face and strong jaw would make him perfect for the role. Just picture him in the Flash suit.

Call me crazy, but....Chris Rock.

Think about it - the Flash has to be skinny, high energy, and cocky. Chris Rock could do that.

Whoever they might choose... please let it not be Ben Afleck.... man ... one actor that's so insignificant that I have to re-watch his movies right till the end just to know that I had already seen it before ! =))
