Well I have been a merchant account sales rep for over 15 years now and I can tell you that all businesses that have a pay pal account is a good idea. They have alot of great features...I always tell my clients that it is good but you really should open a real merchant account as soon as you can. I think the best one to work with is someone like Wells Fargo. You will need a payment gateway to connect to your website though and I sell those all the time to people that have a website. Since my company truby consulting services here in Arizona gets alot of questions just like this one I certainly hope this helps you in your quest. My best customers love the fact that you can be set up in under 2 days once the application is filled out.

PayPal is an easy payment system that is used by tens of millions of people. It's payment cart is easy to integrate into your Web pages.

Alternatively, you can get a merchant account with any number of providers. But for ease, I would use PayPal.

Have you looked into Paypal? If not I would! You are able to accept credit cards, checks, cash (instant funds) and I beleive there is a Paypal credit.

I have the merchant account. I pay fees on every payment received but I also geta % back when I use my Paypal card to make purchases.

If you want to be able to actually accept credit cards and look "professional", then a merchant account is the way to go. If you are small time or don't have the cash (yet) for such an account, go PayPal.

BE CAREFUL WITH PAYPAL....If someone decides after they pay you that they dont want the product then they can get a refund on that product immediately out of your account without your approval, whether you sent the payment or not....I used to use paypal ( once bitten, twice shy)...Look for a company called Element, software costs I believe are around$100, but its just like a regular credit card payment..If you cant find anyone let me know and i will give you the name of my rep......

Paypal is the quickest easiest to get up and running, and is widely accepted.

Otherwise you could check on these:

CyberSource's services
