I agree with Local Shop Girl. If too many people start to add stupid answers just for the 2 points then the value of YA will drop to the point where it is useless. To that end, if askers would be consistent in reporting abuse then hopefully that won't happen.
To answer your question though, answer as many questions as you feel qualified to answer. Make your answer thoughtfully and you will get points. It is not a race, you will get up in level as and when you deserve to.

Don't know, that's not why I come on here. I have to say I don't understand the obsession that some people seem to have with climbing the points ladder as quickly as possible. All it seems to do is produce inane answers, like 'dnt no but thx 4 tha 2 points' from some illiterate imbecile.
As far as I'm aware there's no monetary reward for attaining a higher level.
I'm just trying to enjoy YA. I do seem to get a decent amount of 10 pointers for best answer, but that's because I aim for quality not quantity. I try to make my answers either informative, funny, or if I can possibly manage it, both!

You want concrete answer you won't get
With voting no longer a point generator, you have to sit down and answer questions.
The Coveted 10 can be sluggish to get, so between being a fast typer and going for short answers, that could generate about 120 points an hour.
A lot depends on you

It depends on the level you're on, as that determines how many questions you can answer, how many answers you can vote on, etc.
I suppose the best thing to do is answer as many questions as you can (20 I think if you're on Level 1), make those answers as best you can so yours are more likely to get chosen as best answer. Go to the unresolved questions and vote on as many answers as you can. After a while, if the questions you've answered haven't had a best answer picked and it goes to the vote, vote on your own answer. I know it's cheeky, but since they let you do it, why not? Hopefully, your own vote may bring you another 10 points.

Spend 24 hours per day, researching, and looking up good answers for people.
Pick a specalist subject, and stick to it.
And remember to vote for as many good answers per day as you are allowed to.
