Integration of a multi cultural and a multi religious society does not depend on the government of the day. The evolution of a multicultural society is with the people when respect is given where it is due. The government cannot be blamed for the things that are happening. It is already decades since people of other nationalities have started settling in England. By now the integration of the society should be almost complete. People of all colors should should live and work together and not live among their own communities if there there is going to be integration. The government on the other hand should extend their aid all irrespective of race or religion. Why don't every one give it a try and see how well all can live together peacefully.

The creation of a multicultural society in the 90's was a good idea. It went wrong once labour lost control. Labour under Blair thought to avoid problems with the PC and human rights lot you have to give minorities what they want. The ghetto was a 1950's thing. When we brought in Jamaicans and Indians they were given groups of houses next to each other. This was to have a community and allow them to integrate. All it did was built units most not able to speak English. It is because governments have allowed the areas like Bradford, Birmingham and Leicester to become a stronghold for immigrants that the policy failed. The only way to have a multicultural society is to integrate. I think it has gone to far for that.

While I'll wait for someone else to give a full answer.. in short : YES.
I believe the different cultures of the UK clash, and even though this might sound racist, it's fairly obvious to see that black communites and black people tend to bring alot of crime to the UK, while asians seem to bring hostility and such.
White Brits are no angels of course, but I see it first hand every day. Other races and cultures are more criminalistic and racist towards white brits than they get credit for.

Yes and it isn't just happening in this country.
I can understand the immigrants who are of first generation holding on to their identities, it's all they know. But the ones who are born and bred here and then become haters of everything British I don't understand.
Bring back the death penalty for these would be bombers and paedophiles and don't let them have legal aid.
The Muslims who were arrested and one shot the other week were innocent but yet they had £250,000 in cash in the house, not bad for sum. imagine moving to Syria and trying to earn that to save for a rainy day, it wouldn't happen because it is not great like Great Britain.

why oh why do you think tony blair introduced multi cultural ism to our society,
the royal family go back donkeys years, but yet were no more english than a Volkswagen beetle,
we the english are part norman part saxon, viking, roman, etc.
liverpool one of our great cities, had its fortune made on the black slave trade a couple of centuries ago, during which we took and gave to society,
if you think you can convince people in britain that we are not a cosmopolitan society and the diversity of culture that we enjoy is a product of any recent government, then I am afraid, our descendants of the irish, scottish and welsh, afros, euros, americans, apologies to all others who are part of this country, then we laugh at you, not with you!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to say that it's not the policies which are failing us, it's the nature of people. Ghettos (white, black and asian) are created as we all want to live near people similar to us - it's our nature and character. Everyone is to blame, including the minorities and it's about time we all took some responsibility. For example, British Muslims should stop burying their heads in the sand about the potential terror attacks. They should stop denying it is happening and speak out against the perpetrators.
Rant over, thanks!

If you have to set and depend on GOVERNMENT POLICY to be racially and culturally nice to people then you have lost before you have begun! These are traits that all decent people have in themselves. There is an age old adage and it is as powerful today as when it was first spoken:
"DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU"! If we all lived like that we would not have to have GOVERNMENT POLICY to dictate how we should act towards others! Politicians can learn something here!

Can we really blame the state of our country today on just one policy? I think that by saying we can is being very simplistic.
