I believe it means that those of us who have pretty comfortable lives feel embarrassed when confronted by the destitute and homeless. We want to pretend they don't really exist and when we're forced to admit they do, we want someone to do something to help - but not us; it's got to be someone else's problem. So .... we all go on living in our own little paradise, A really great Phil Collins' song.

It's a big pile of toss about how terrible it is for poor people to exist, especially hypocrytical because Phil is loaded, especially niave because we have relative poverty and not abslute in the UK.
"Another Day thinking whether or not education, support and a drive for aspiratrion as well as adaquate housing and icreased policing is Paradise"
Apparently not a ctctchy chorus, still I think it has aa certain ring.

The song is about homeless people, it highlights their hardships, humiliation and harassment, it draws attention to the fact that no matter how difficult our lives are it still IS, another day in paradise for us, as our lives are better than those of homeless people.

Imagine living on a desert island with nothing but a couple of big crates of bounties. All the crabs and lobsters can understand what you're saying and build you a bed and a conservatory and stuff.

It's a comment on how blind many are to the plight of the homeless and disenfranchised in such a supposedly enlightened age; and also it is an attempt to draw attention to this plight.

it basically is trying to get people to be more sympathetic to the plight of the less fortunate. it describes how they suffer and the reactions they get from everyone. how people can see that they are suffering but ignore them, and dnt try and help.
