If you want to check how much RAM you installed, just follow these simple steps...
1) Open the "start menu"
2) Open settings and select "Control Panel"
3) Double Click "System"
And in the bottom columnn, you can see your system information.
The another way to check how much RAM you installed is to go to this website and check it. From that website, you can even buy RAM that matches your computer.
This is the website...http://www.memoryx.com/
Just after you open that website, click "Check your computer" in the Left colum.

Hi there. Simply goto your desktop and right click on MY COMPUTER. go down to properties and click on it. You will find information about your PC there.
It says...
Computer:
AMD Athlon 2100+ XP (or your processor here)
1.73GHz, 512MB RAM (or your processor speed and RAM here)
Also, if you have Windows 98 it won't work, as Windows 98 will only run a maximum of 512MB RAM.
and if you have inserted your memory properly then you won't need to check it as you will notice straight away with the speed boost your computer has.
well i did anyway
good luck

it would want to be both that the motherboard would not settle for/recognize more beneficial than 512MB of ram or it would want to be that the images card makes use of 512MB of the 1GB yet I doubt that. I checked the motherboard and it would not seem the placement of accepting the ram so i'm not thoroughly particular...solid success

open up your case, before you put the ram in, fill it up with water, switch it on while touching the metal of the case - note how many times you get electrocuted.
Switch off, install the new ram, fill up with water again, switch on, count the times you got shocked and compare with previous score - the difference should tell you if it worked.
