Batman, most definitely. 1st above all the others batman is only Batman. Bruce Wayne is Batman's alter-ego Bruce Wayne only exists as means to an end, whereas Superman's Clark Kent is really who Superman is the same with Diana Troy. Batman is Batman he exists in no other form. He is dark, obsessed and borderline psychotic. He is in a continuous struggle between is dark half and his search for his own humanity. 2nd, Batman has detailed files on all other League members including their weeknesses and detailed scenio results of how to engage them in combat should any ever decide to cross the line. He trust no one and he never rests he is continously updating his own knowledge of enemies and League members. He has unlimited personell resources and unlimited finances. It would take someone equally disturbed and obsessed to beat him at his own game.

Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are the 3 big guns of the Justice League. However, they have left the league for their personal causes at one point or another. Only one member has been with the League throughout and has also been the key figure in keeping every hero communicated when the battle commences. And that character is the Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onz. He IS the most important member in the Justice League. Nobody argues with him when he is in charge. Not even Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman. And all 3 knows that the League in any incarnation, will always be alright if the Martian Manhunter is around to keep an eye on things.

Batman is the mind in the League, but his trust issues always end up being more of a liability to the team. Superman is the public face, if people see Superman standing with the League, they feel confident that everything is fine. Wonder Woman plays the politic liason with the leaders of the world, being an ambassador from Themyscira herself. But it is the Martian Manhunter who is the true heart of the League, he has always been there from the beginning, through every incarnation of the team. The Martian Manhunter is the most important member, he´s the glue keeping it all together.

The Flash. Whatever version you go with, he's always the true heart of the human superhero ideal and heart of the League. With his comedic weak personality he represents the man to be saved as well as how to save others. He makes mistakes but learn from then. I think just he has the best balance of all the superhero ideals, his stories are never overused, he's a little bit of an underdog but also one of the most powerful. I'm guessing yours is...Green Lantern? Just guessing cause you made a point of saying it was Hal. Either that or Martian Manhunter.

Superman, without a doubt! To prove it, you need look no further than the two part episode where his collegues thought he had died(actually he had been sent into the future). His"death"really hit all of them hard,so it's pretty obvious he's the one they all looked to for guidance. When he returned, they all rejoiced, especially Batman, even though he never really believed Superman was dead. As I recall, Wonder Woman took a liking to his new beard, which he made clear he wasn't keeping. Bottom line: Superman is the glue that keeps the Justice League together.

I think they are all important! Without the others they may not be as powerful...Like United we stand divided we fall, maybe they are all equally powerful in their own ways rather than one more powerful then others. They are the justice league not Superman and the league of justice...or Batman and the league of justice. So that is my opinion!

Without a Doubt - BATMAN. If you are a true fan you know that Superman is just the figure head like the President but Batman comes up with the plans, does the research, and then has to get everyone to follow it to the letter. Plus everyone is scared of Batman as proven after the storyline of "Tower of Babel" where Ras Al Ghul almost killed all of them with Batman's own plans. BATMAN ROCKS

Superman without a doubt. Like on a football team, Superman would be the quarterback, you still need the other positions but his is the most important and besids, who no one else would be able to keep Batman in check.

Batman - He is the only character capable of keeping the other members in line, not by physical strength, but by cunning and skill. He also possesses (or did, I think continuity may have changed) the ability to shut Superman down if it came to it via the Kryptonite he was given by Superman himself.

Superman - he's not my favorite, mind you, but he is the embodiment of what the Justice League stands for. He's kind of the guiding spirit of the Justice League, even in stories that don't involve him.
Come on, it' even in his little motto: Truth, JUSTICE, and the American Way!
