Arranged marriages CAN work - when both people are committed to making it work, and don't have regrets or romantic feelings elsewhere. You don't want to turn your back on someone you love, and then get married to someone else while you still have unresolved feelings - its just a little too "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam".
I've seen some really impossible love matches work (girl Pakistani Muslim, boy Indian Hindu: 7 years, but the families eventually agreed to it), and some really great-on-paper arranged marriages fail miserably. It also works the other way around.
Look objectively at your own feelings, and the risks that you are willing to take for this person, and do what your heart tells you. For the rest, trust in God.
Best of luck to you in whatever life you choose!

Any marriage is good.
Marriage is a marriage, whether it is arranged or not.
How you keep the marriage going for a long time, is that matters.
You need not marry a person - at any cost.
Nothing is serious, till you take it seriously.

By all means one should marry a person whom he/she loves only. In case of arranged marriages, where such a situation couldn't be availed, the situation of loving should be maintained to reap the results.

At the end of the day, what is marriage? you only marry someone truly when you want to commit to them totally (in any religion).
I agree that some marriages that are absolutely based on love don't work but maintaining the love in the marriage depends on the couple. overall, i think that if you love someone to that extent, then you should marry them- after all, your the one who'll have to spend the rest of your life with the man/woman, so why not he/she be of your choice??? but it's also a good idea to discuss with your parents for their view. after that, your a legal adult (hopefully) and you've got your own life to handle and make decisions.

Me thinks. In case of arranged marriage, it depends on many things like upbringing, mental makeup , healthy personality etc...

certainly not at the cost of one's own life !
all marriages are arranged, either by the parents / family, or by the groom / bride - but not all are good - don't tend to generalize !
