Aah, but maybe they are already and it's just waiting for you to realise it.

I believe so. If you tell someone they are beautiful and compliment them every day, they start believing it and start caring about their appearance and the more confident they become the more you see it in their personality.I believe so. I was a real geek in school and had a very low self esteem and never had any boyfriends. When I met my first boyfriend he kept telling me how beautiful I am and I started showing it and believing it. Now the guys that use to tease me and tell me how ugly I am, is trying to get with me.Makes you feel good.

That is 100% true, our words are self-fulfilling prophecies, the things you say now to anyone, tend to become true some way or the other, so people need to be very careful of what they say. Because the more you comment positively to anyone those comments become a reality....the good that you say will show in future to others....

Possibly to some extent. You'd be boosting their self-esteem, and for someone who's possibly given up on looks, it might get them motivated to take charge of the things they have control over. Start paying attention to how they dress, do their hair etc. That's all I got.

If you mean, they will believe you?? I dont think so. If you are saying this to someone because they are feeling 'ugly' then you telling them they are beautiful all the time is not going to work.

That depends,on who/what type these "friends" are. these days generally people do not mean what they say/or they try to be sarcastic.

A good example is that of the "English" people in the UK ( not the scots/welsh/irish, only the "english" ),most of them dont know what they are talking about or whether they really realize what they mean, anyway guess i must conclude now as it seems to be going off the topic.

No. That's a version of the Nazi "great lie" theory. The theory is: "tell the same lie over and over again and it becomes the truth."
You cannot change a person's appearance by complementing them. You can certainly make them feel better about themselves.

yes it is.If you tell someone that they are smart, stupid, beautiful, ugly, cool, annoying, or anything else then sooner or later they will believe it and that wont change.
