I, like many others it seems had my password changed after being sent a link from a friend to a impersonating Yahoo web site.....after 2 months of contact with yahoo without any help, this matter still frustrates me.

Yahoo advises me that they are "unable to help as they have to protect members accounts"....really all they are doing is protecting the person that changed my password by improper means.

I have the ISP add from where the account was changed, which is in USA and I reside in Australia, the ISP I currently use is the same when I set up the Yahoo account some 3 years ago.

Surely Yahoo have the technology to investigate claims and at the very least suspend accounts until they can determine who the right full owner of the account is.

I'm in the USA and had a similar problem many years ago. In my case, the threat of legal action was enough, and the provider reset the password and Emailed me my new password -- which allowed me to take back control of my account.

Keep in mind that proving identity is a pain, but it shouldn't take you more than a few days to get that done. Keep detailed records of what you've done, and proceed methodically.

Include in your correspondence the steps you've taken towards resolution, listing them in order. That tells the people on the other end 2 important things:

1) you're keeping excellent records, and
2) you're preparing a cogent argument

If you've done your homework, both of those things will work strongly to your favor during negotiation and/or litigation.

Do not be impolite, but also do not be intimidated by their responses: you have only those rights that you assert.

i have had my account "suspended". I mean deleted (per chance). My 360, my e mail, my IM, my Yahoo! solutions, and my personal "web page" were given suspended. i recognize who were given me suspended, and that i recognize why. i became too youthful, in spite of the reality that i for my area wasn't. My old account I shared with my 11 12 months old pal. She became particularly a lot 12 and instructed each and absolutely everyone so! i became 13, and nevertheless am. besides, one consumer did not like it and many times said me because i became too youthful. in addition they theory I had incorrect recommendations each and every of the time because of one question. i became element 4, appropriate Contributor. Then, to appropriate all of it off this persons different account or "pal" responded my old debts nevertheless open question and insulted me even as getting staggering answer! properly, i did not attraction, i did not recognize how. It stated "you opt for a code" or something like that and that i had no theory WHAT code. besides, i have not had a reply from them, and that i do not recognize who Jilibean is. lol. Oh, and continually conceal your contacts, and Q/A. Make yet another e mail account so in case you "forget" your account id or Password they could deliver it to you. also, write it down. That way you could tell if it became deleted, or you purely forgot.
