Israel sure doesn't look like they are too concerned about leveling Lebanon. I figure they will continue as long as they want to as well.

Are they regretting invading-probably not. They may be regretting not giving it out with both barrels. They could have laid a huge butt whuppin on Lebenon and they should have. The way Hezbollah works, I am betting Israel will get another crack at it.

ClonePuppet...if you think for one second that the UN will be able to disarm Hezbollah, then you also must believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.

It looks like some Israelis think they didn't win this war. There are good articles in the New York Times and Washington Post on line. Olmert's approval rating slipped from 70 to 36.

It will not be long, before Israel is tempted to reinvade Lebanon. And as long as there is no substantial change in the US fundamentalist vision, the same destructive US policy that has pushed Iraq and Afghanistan back into pre-barbaric times is going to be attempted in Lebanon.

Therefore, we can say that we have only witnessed the first phase in a long conflict over the future of Lebanon, intertwined with the longer conflict over the future of Palestine.

The renewed lethal Israeli air raids on Gaza in the first day after the ceasefire in Lebanon is a precursor of worse to come.

To sum up, Hizbollah’s achievement may indicate that the days of the US empire in the Middle East are numbered and nearly over.

No, Israel has achieved what it wanted. That is to have the United Nations send in International Peace keeper troops into South Lebanon and also force the Lebanese Government to disarm Hezbollah, which it was supposed to do a year ago. Also having a International Peace keeping force in that area will also put extra pressure on Iran to keep in line.

I hope everyone in the World come to realize you can't bomb people into submission. With that said, I hope both sides regret what happened for the human toll suffered on both sides. I hope Israel will realize the 1000 civilians killed by the US smart bombs and the destruction of Lebanon was a hefty price for a meeker achievement (if there is any.)

do you think the un resolution was of any value for the israel and america ( israel and america is the same thing , one is used by the other and lets see who win ) , this resolution was a shelter provided to israel and saving his face , within minutes the entire israel accepted it , within hours it pulled its troops , because the us is not able to do much as america itself has sunken in iraq for searching weapons of mass destruction .
Israel is totally regretting its invasion of lebonon not becuse of the the war crimes they did , but because the world knew its real millitary strength , fighting against a millitia , not a govt.

All have seen destruction on TV. One has pointed out that Israel was nicer to them. This means it is regretting for not causing more destruction.
The above approach is not understandable.

I know many critics of the war in Lebanon are mad at Olmert for not going hard enough. If you really look at it Israel was nicer then it could be and that is not saying much.

I think it was very insensitive and undiplomatic for israel to invade lebanon and kill civilians. They HAD to get the hell out of lebanon, its not their land, in addition, the lebanese did not invade israel, why should israel do it ?
