I'm going to be in a pageant soon, and I'm working on filling out my application. So far, I have: "In my free time I enjoy writing songs, taking pictures and political campaigning." I don't think that sounds right, though. Does that make it sound like I'm the one running for office? Cause, I'm definently not. I enjoy helping others campaign so how do I word that?!

Just say that you enjoy helping out with political campaigns. Then it won't sound like you are the one running for office. Just don't say which party because that may swing judges one way or the other.

The way you want to phrase it is to say...

"I try to make a difference by working on the political campaigns of candidates committed to social betterment."
