o.k. so pennywise was a bit postal ( he was in "it") but on the whole, is'nt your average clown just misunderstood?

yeh they freak alot of people out!!!!!!!!!!
aspecially me ........cause there was one clown who kept smiling at me and when i looked away he sprayed water on my face

Clowns are not evil. I have spoken to people who are afraid of clowns, and it seems that because of their makeup and the way it's put on to show a permanent emotion on their face (smile or frown), that some people have a deeply ingrained mistrust of them because the makeup hides a clown't nonverbal intentions from them. That lack of nonverbal input from the clown is scary to some people, because they realize (to them) that a clown could be up to ANYTHING, and they wouldn't know it, simply because of the makeup and costume blocking those people's ability to interprete the clown's intentions non-verbally. the "they could be up to ANYTHING" thought is the major source of clown fear. Another source is bad experiences around a clown, and then "KNOWING" they could be up to "ANYTHING" so to speak. Personally, I'm not afraid of clowns, and would dress like a clown if I wanted, but I have little interest in it (except in a mutually consentual situation, including safe-words, with Jennyslut, and ONLY she's female and a legal adult, LOL).

No clowns are not evil. I have been a Shrine clown for over 30 years and have never hurt anyone.

My sister is really freaked by clowns and I reckon it stems from watching Poltergeist, the bit where the toy clown attacks Robbie.

They are inherently cruel. They are the scourge of this planet, put here to torment and cause anguish to all. No one is safe from their foul and louthsome faces. I beleive the saying is true 'Under every clown hides a child catcher.'
