my hero is
the Prophet Mohammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM).
Why is small question in front of a huge answer about this great person: Mohammad (p.b.u.h), because he was a mercy sent by Allah to the humanity in order to guide them to their Lord. He taught us how to live as he taught us to love. When the first verse of the Noble Quran was revealed to Him he started to teach it to the people, this first verse was: (IQRAA' !) which means in English: READ!, and after that he started to give this pure light to people, then people started to light their ways by this great light of Faith by The Creator!!! Allah (The Most Might, The Most Merciful) says in The Holy Quran: {Alif Lam Ra (A.L.R.); a Book We have sent down to thee that thou mayest bring forth mankind from darkness to light, by their Lord's leave, to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

I have a very few people considered worthy of that opinion.

One is author Lewis Mumford, whose studies of life, culture, and society helped connect America with its past and showed a way forward to our potential - if only we have the courage and decency to take his challenges.

Another is a very obscure man who lived a life of determination, courage, industry, innovation, and humanity. James S. Edwards commercialized the navel orange, developed the system of refrigerating rail cars and ships' holds to enable fresh food to be sent long distances (by using ice - before invention of electric refrigeration), participated in the founding of the community of Redlands, California, founded its newspaper, built its water system, and died at his desk - working on ways to provide food to the hungry during the Great Depression.

King William III of England, too, was a man of heroic proportions. He and co-regent and beloved wife Queen Mary set the foundations of modern Great Britain as a true constitutional monarchy despite a reign almost totally engaged in civil and foreign war.

Living persons? Nope. But great people - in my view, anyhow - of the past hold up examples of thought, achievement, failure, love, and insight that serve us all well. These three are examples indeed.
