I spent some months living in Amsterdam and learnt a lot about how prostitution works over there. The girls involved are so well protected, they are regularly screened for drugs and STD's and are very well looked after by various professional organisations. They make a lot of money as well! It's a very common way that girls choose to help put themselves through uni. I think that if that's how you decide to make your money and its safe and well regulated then why not?

I lived in Amsterdam for 2 years and understand that allot of people may be close minded, but nobody ever really knows the truth behind this form of prostitution, the fact is these girls are all either Asian or Black or Eastern European, you will never find a Dutch girl in a red light district window. The majority of these girls are scouted for by organisations (basically organised crime) offering the sun moon and stars and great wages for modelling or working in foreign countries. When really the Job is basically placing them in a window in cheap lingerie drugged up to their eyeballs on smack or heroin. They get the girls addicted so they need to work to maintain there supply. While the pimps cream off there takings.
No girl ever wants to be a prostitute, for some its a last resort in desperation to survive, for others its a better choice than living in poverty for the rest of their lives.
Unfortunatley it is a rd once they go down it they very rarley get out until they become to old or die from drug abuse. Its a sad situation, I know this because of one girl I knew who's family went looking for her and managed to get her back, but at a high price!
No girl ever wants to be used as a toilet for nasty perverted men...

I think it should be made legal in this country, that way the prostitutes get proper and regular health checks, no one can force them into it and the people who want to visit a prostitute can do it openly instead of seedy, we have a prostitute on our street and its so not fair the amount of business she has tried to do round here turning her tricks and doing it for drugs, just before the kids broke up from school she was arrested for doing what she thinks is fine, outside the school with her legs in the air, no shame, I have no problem with prostitution, though it should be legal, in places that aren't offencive to people who do hate it and well away from children too.

Prostitution is just a job.
One difference is that the risks are higher, so I think there should be some regulation, compulsory education of STD, and regular tests. May be even specially designated areas for people to practise their trade.
Escorts too are fine, as long as they have the same regulations on education, tests...

Prostitution will never be stopped so it needs to be regulated. There must be a need for it otherwise it would not exist. It is only a matter of time before it is made legal. Remember also, it is legal for one girl to work alone from home.

If it's a persons free choice whether they want to or not, then why is there a problem.
They don't call it the oldest profession for nothing!
Provided measures are taken not to spread disease then get on with it.
Personally, I'm too tight-fisted to pay for it - esp. when you can visit rosie for free!!
If I was a single woman I think I'd be quite tempted.... it's better than working for a living innit?!?!?!

I have the same opinion of voluntary prostitution as I do of voluntary office work or voluntary fund raiser, if it's voluntary it's what they want to do, or need to and have the guts, I say fair play!

How do I stand against it? In a big overcoat and hat, in a shadowy bit. The hat is to hide my face. The overcoat is to hide the fact that I'm not wearing any trousers.
