Why are you worried about that? We as a nation should progress. There should be no competition between states or we will surely crumble as a nation.
Good luck.

Let's not create this type of unhealthy competition among the cities of our country. Mumbai and Bangalore both have their own different important roles in the development of the nation. Mumbai continues to be the commercial capital of India and Bangalore grows as a giant in the fields of software and biotechnology. Having sea-coast, Mumbai enjoys a very important strategic place in the geo-political sphere and Bangalore being known for its weather, acceptability of the local people with their non-agitating co-operation embraces MNCs to its fold and makes fast move towards economic growth of the country. Hence question of one overcoming the other does not arise at all. Both should strive for the development of the nation.

too small a place to compare it with mumbai. I have heard public transport sucks in Banglore. May be a long way to go. You can never compare the liveliness of Mumbai with any other Indian city.
