You need to contact a commercial real estate broker. Any of the brokers will know most of the farmers since it's a small town where everyone knows everyone. Most of the farm land in El Campo is privately owned and farmed by local farmers. The land that isn't being farmed is used a lot by hunters during goose, dove and quail hunting seasons. It's not impossible that a farmer would lease his land to someone else so you may actually get a good deal, but most land is for sale, not lease. You can also put a "wanted" ad in the local newspaper, the El Campo Leader-News, under commercial real estate.

It totally depends on the kind of land, its location and condition and the owner.
