It is rather annoying, but I just try and ignore them. Don't get brain washed by their own religion, unless you are interested. Most of those types are just very ignorant and need a reality check. Why isn't their "god" telling them the proper way to spread the word of their religion!? =)

Have them to read Heb.13:50-52. Then tell them to shake the dust off their feet and move on with a different conversation if they can.

That is fascism. Do not tolerate fascism, or, the imposition of another's viewpoint. Tell them to keep their thoughts about private issues like sex, politics and religion to themselves. I always say, " I'll be glad to discuss religion with you if we can first discuss sex. Have you ever had anal intercourse?" It's a rudeness, yes. But Fascism is the height of rudeness. Good luck.

Absolutely. But usually I end the conversation quickly by saying "You know, there's nothing dumber than watching two adults argue over who's imaginary friend is better... Can we talk about something else?"

yes i do, i usually tell them i'm happy with the church i attend and i'm not wanting to change at this time, no i will not take their literature and to please not bother me anymore. my mom was really good at getting rid of the ones that come to you house trying to get you to change to thier religion. she had certain rules to keep them away or make it unpleasant for them to not come back.
1. do not let them in your house (you let them in, you'll find it hard to get them to leave)
2. do not take their literature, if they try to force it on you.. say "i need something to line the bird cage with" or "i need something to start a fire with". if you don't let them in the house- they don't know if you have a bird or not, same for fireplace. but use the fireplace excuse if its cold.
3. do not let them start a bible study with you, say you attend the one at your church weather you go or not.
4. do not say you'll attend their church, just say you're happy with the one you go to, you don't have to tell them if you go or not or how often you go.
5. don't argue with them, they love to try to prove you wrong
6. babies crying, screaming children all make good excuses to say "i'm sorry, but i'm really busy at this time and i must go".
