It's a sweet 15 party, when a girl turns 15. Traditionally, this was a public announcement of the girl's readiness for marriage. Depending on the family and culture, this celebration can be considered a requirement to coming of age, like the debutante ball.

In the Hispanic community, the 15th birthday is a coming of age, so to speak. It is the equivalent of our sweet sixteen celebration.

well its a Mexican tradition for a girl when she turns 15 indicating she is a women now almost like a barmetsfa(excuse my spelling)only for a girl now and its called a Quinceanera and by the way the tradition is ONLY for a girl turning 15
