I have just moved into an appartment and am struggling so i am looking in to becoming a pole dancer/ lap dancer, people keep telling me that i am worth more than this and i would be a slag. I disagree with this as the men aren't even allowed to touch you! and the people that are telling me this, go to these clubs anyway.
The club is a decent club and there is a chain of them. I don't want people to start thinking of me as a slag, are the people that think this just narrow minded?
need some advice?
And if anyone has ever been a pole dancer/lap dancer what does the audition involve?

People are ignorant, if you feel comfortable with yourself to be able to do this then go for it girl. You will not be a slag, unless you start sleeping with the customers. If it is a reputable company then there will be high class people not seedy little old men. It is good money so go for it.

If you are young and attractive and feel the need to do this to pay your bills go for it. The only problem is the lifestyle.
What do pole katz do?
Work late mornings or afternoons untill very late at night.
Have too much access to drugs and alcohol (too tempting)
Have guys stock them after they leave the club (lots of weirdos)
After a full day of dancing your feet are killing you but you still want time to wind down and well stay up too late. Bad steeping and eating habits
Turn tricks (some not all will offer other services and the cash is enough to consider it, even for the "good girls")
later when you don't have the body anymore around 30 to 35 yrs old you have gained no experience in other fields, you're limited to what you know and you didn't get a chance to clime the corporate ladder that may have gotten you further in a real career.
How 'bout children? Would you tell them what you did for a living? Would you want your Daughter doing the same thing.
Money is important but you have to think about your future girl.

Who cares what people think of you? Are they paying your rent? If not, then do what makes you happy. You can't have it both ways. If you do this, then some people will think you're a slag and there is nothing you can do about that. Your tone in talking about the club is self-conscious, almost defensive, and when you start defending what you are doing, you give the impression that it is something that needs to be defended. This leaves you open for people to attack it. If you decide to do this, manage your money wisely and avoid discussions about your job.
Practice at home for the audition - use a chair. Find out from the club what else is involved, and if you're using their music or bringing your own.

my personal opinion is that it is kool to do it!
it pays really well and i think men can tip you as well so if u do ur thing propa ull be rolling in it!
it is also a really good way to tone up and teri hatcher from desperate houswives does pole dancing classes apparently!
y are you so bothered about what ppl say? if u know in ur heart that u are not a slag then who cares! b who u want to be!
also if it is a decent club then im sure they will look after u in there and have cctv and all that!
so go for it!

It still is showing your body off to strange men, so many people would probably regard you no different to someone who lap danced in a dive of a club it doesn't matter whether its posh or not. But it is how you feel that counts, if you enjoy it and keen to try it as a profession who is to stop you? I lived with a lap dancer for a short while - obviously work late nights and you keep strange hours - but the money is good. She had to audition for the club manager - they are very picky about your weight and keeping up a toned, tanned figure. Stringfellows turned her away saying she was too fat ! (which she wasn't , rather slim with a J-Lo type ***).

You want to be a CFO or Top Legal person for a company some day? a High School prinical or teacher? If so, don't do it. For many future jobs, rightly or wrongly, it will make a difference if in your background you have done this kind of work in the past.
Otherwise, do it! Don't care about others. So long as you know you can be good at it, you'd like it, you like the person who would be your boss and you like your coworkers, you're almost guaranteed to be happy.

You have answered your own question by asking it. If you need justification for your actions from complete strangers then in your heart you know the answer. If in doubt leave it out. No matter what others will tell you, such as Susie on Big Brother, it may well come back to haunt you later on in life. It might well turn out to be blot on your personal history, but if you really see this to be off no consequence then do what your heart and brain tells you to do. Just don't blame your future mother-in-law :))

nothing wrong with it, it's legal and above board and if your body and looks can earn you money then go for it.
besides which if you like it and you're good at it your confidence will go through the roof and it's not as though you're thinking of choosing the path of porn star or street hooker.
big yourself up girl.
and keep your clothes on for the audition, a good routine doesn't have to be naked.

NO IT DOESNT!!!!! Alot of the girls working at the clubs are fantastic people with familys and kids. A place with a good rep is a great place to work

the people who go there & are tellin u not 2 coz they obviously care about you.there is no such thing as a desent 1 & i think it would be very dangerous.y dont you jus go 4 dancing in normal nightclubs where u dont have to strip.that way u dont have sleezy men gaukin at ya.or even try modellin.: )
