Bleach - NOT dye

2006-08-17 22:44:19 · answer #1 · answered by Ade 4 · 1 0

You asked this before...I discouraged you...but if you insist.
Get a Rit Dye that takes the color out and redye with Rit White.
I still believe you will be disappointe and they will come out tattle tale gray. The thing is...dyeing from light to dark works fine but reversing the process id disappointing...But go for it...if you believe it will.. you can alway get Rit Denim blue and put it back.
Good Luck.

rit's your best bet, IMO; bleach is more often spotty than not. why not just buy white jeans, though? why WANT white jeans?

"If you wish to dye an item to a lighter or different color, use Rit Color Remover to lighten the original fabric color as much as possible before dyeing. Rit Color Remover may reduce the prominence of a printed pattern in a fabric.".

Just throw it in a solution of chlorine or any clothe bleaching solution (chlorox is a good brand here) :-) But make sure that you rinse and repeat the process as necessary to make sure that the folds and ends are bleached as well.

you need to find color remover that is usually sold near the colored dyes in the store if you try to bleach them they may turn yellow but the color remover works well.
