My guppy is pregnant and look as if she's about to burst! She is in a smaller tank with a heater, gravel and plants. I was sure she would give birth yesterday night but she didn't. She is swimming up down, up down and all around! She's not even interested in live food! Is she about to give birth? I raised the temperature one C higher because I heard that it would help her give birth...

She may be frantic because of her new surroundings. Because of this she may eat the fry when they are born. I would suggest adding some baby brine shrimp with an air stone to keep them circulating in the tank when she is dropping the fry and she will eat that instead. You can also raise the temperature to 82 degrees, and wrap the sides of the tank in a dark background so she can't see as much.

Just make sure she has lots of plants in there for both her, and the babies, to hide in. She'll pop when she's ready to pop. It really isn't recommended you mess with the temperature much, especially with birth imminent, you really want to do everything in your power not to stress her. However, since you've already cahnged the temp., don't change it back. She, considering she's not interested in the food at all, is most likely due very soon; expect little fry any time now!
